Seven metres of heated bench under one roof: the largest drying cabin in the range, with 2.75 m of width so gear can hang both sides. Own consumer unit, three security-shuttered windows.
Seven metres of drying bench under a high-level fan heater: that is what this 24 ft x 9 ft cabin brings to a big winter job. The extra width over the 8 ft cabins means benches can run both sides with room to walk between, rather than gear being crammed onto a single run.
Construction follows the rest of the secure steel range – insulated and lined walls and ceiling, sealed vinyl floor, a deadlocking steel external door, and three sliding windows behind steel shutters.
This is the heaviest electrical item most compounds run. It comes with its own fitted consumer unit, power points, a convector heater and strip lighting, and is tested before it leaves. Size the site supply with your electrician: a big drying room running overnight alongside the rest of the compound is exactly the scenario that trips an undersized board.
Heat alone does not dry gear – moving air does. Leave the shuttered windows cracked or the vents open so humid air can escape, and space the gear rather than packing it. Both are free, and both make the difference between dry boots and warm wet ones.
Corner posts, four level bearing points, stacks with matching 24 ft units so it lines up with the office and crib room. See the family under cabins for sale. If the compound will be in place for a year or more, the council approval guide covers what is usually required.
