A 20 ft secure steel drying room, 6 m long, with benches and high-level heating to turn around a full crew’s wet gear overnight. Shuttered windows, insulated shell, sealed vinyl floor.
The 20 ft drying room is the size you buy when the crew is large enough that the 16 ft version fills up by Tuesday. Six metres of internal length gives bench and hanging space for a full gang’s wet weather gear, with a high-level fan heater working the air above it.
The shell is the standard secure steel build shared across the range: insulated and lined walls and ceiling, sealed vinyl floor over 18 mm particle board, a deadlocking steel external door and two sliding windows behind steel shutters.
Two things separate a drying room that works from one that just gets warm. The first is airflow – leave the vents or shuttered windows cracked so moisture can leave rather than condensing on the ceiling. The second is not overloading it; gear packed shoulder to shoulder will still be damp at 6 am no matter how hard the heater runs.
Fitted power points and strip lighting are installed and the cabin is electrically tested before dispatch. Because a drying room runs its heater for hours after everyone has left, have your electrician confirm the site supply can carry it alongside the rest of the compound.
It shares the 6.25 m x 2.44 m footprint and corner-post base used by the matching 20 ft offices and crib rooms, so units line up and stack. See the whole family under cabins for sale, or compare the total cost of a cabin compound against container conversions in our price guide.
