20ft Full Side Access Shipping Container for Export

Loading a 20ft container through a 2.34 m doorway is slow. Loading it through a 6-metre side opening is not. That is the entire case for full side access, and it applies whether you are packing goods for export or running the container as a store: a forklift places pallets where they need to go instead of shuttling them down a tunnel.

These are one-trip containers built in China to ISO specification and shipped out with a single cargo. The end doors are retained, so you have both access modes available.

Full side access makes it far easier to build a tight, well-restrained load, which is what stops cargo shifting at sea. Lashing to the side rails is straightforward with the doors open, and you can inspect and correct the stow before closing up rather than discovering a problem at the door line.

The plate is 24 tonnes, not 30

Cutting a six-metre opening removes structural steel, so the CSC plate on an FSA unit is rated lower than a standard 20ft. For most cargo that is academic; for dense freight it is not. Check your payload against the plate before you book the container.
