2002 Exiss SS20 2 Horse Angle Load Float

Among our two horse floats, Exiss built the SS20 in all aluminium with a walk-through door between the dressing room and the horse area, which is a small design decision that changes how you use a float. You can get to your horses, adjust a rug or check a leg, without walking around the outside in the rain.

Described as very clean, with a 0.61 m short wall and a 4.57 m box.

The walk-through door

It sounds minor. It is not. Being able to move from the tack area into the horse area under cover means you can check a travelling horse at a rest stop without unloading, without opening the rear, and without standing on the verge of a highway.

What to check on a twenty-year-old float

Floor, brakes, bearings, coupling, wiring, and the condition of every hinge and latch that a horse could push against. Age itself is not the problem on an aluminium float; deferred maintenance is. Get a written inspection before the first trip, not after it.
