A heavily built 2001 Titan steel three-horse gooseneck on 2,360 kg axles and 16-inch wheels, with a stand-up 1.22 m dressing room and a 4.88 m box.
A steel gooseneck with 16-inch wheels and 2,360 kg axles. The 2001 Titan is built heavier than most three horse floats of its era, and the 4,430 kg gross rating quoted by the manufacturer reflects that.
A 1.22 m short wall over a 2.13 m long wall gives you a dressing room you can stand up in.
Bigger rims mean higher-rated tyres, more sidewall and lower rotational speed at highway pace, which keeps tyre temperatures down. On a heavier float carrying three horses across long distances, that is a genuine durability advantage over 15-inch equipment.
A steel float of this age can be structurally excellent or quietly finished, and the difference is entirely down to how it was stored and washed. Have the chassis rails, the gooseneck neck, the floor bearers and the areas around the axle hangers inspected properly — those are the four places where a steel float fails.
