A 1999 Sundowner Weekender gooseneck float with a living area, air conditioning and electric awning behind a 1.83 m wall — 2.29 m interior height and an escape door. US 110 V wiring needs rework.
The Weekender name is the clue. This 1999 Sundowner gooseneck carries a proper living area with air conditioning and an electric awning behind a 1.83 m short wall, so a two-day show at a regional ground stops being a motel booking.
It is the only live-in two horse float we list, steel-framed with aluminium skin — heavier than an all-aluminium build at 1,900 kg empty, and correspondingly more solid.
The living area is wired for 110 V to United States specification. It cannot simply be plugged into Australian 240 V. Before any of it is used, the whole system needs to be assessed and reworked by a licensed Australian electrician — that is not optional and it is not a DIY job. Budget for it as part of the purchase.
At 2.29 m — 22.5 hands — the interior is genuinely tall, which matters when a horse throws its head up in a float. Combined with an escape door from the front stall, it is a safer arrangement than a low-roofed float for a big or a nervous traveller.
Imported US-market stock. It has not been assessed against Australian Design Rules, state registration requirements, electrical standards or any livestock transport welfare code, and none of that is claimed. Have the float, its brakes, its floor and its wiring inspected locally before use. The buyers guide explains how ordering and payment work.
