A serviced 1999 Sundowner three-horse float with electric brakes on all four wheels, torsion axles, a newer aluminium floor, drop-down windows with bars and a roof vent over every stall.
Serviced and up to date, with electric brakes on all four wheels, torsion axles and a newer aluminium floor. This 1999 Sundowner three horse float has had money spent on the things that matter rather than the things that show.
Drop-down windows with protective bars on the head side, bus windows on the butt side and in the rear doors, and a pop-up roof vent over every stall.
Some older floats brake on one axle only. Four-wheel electric braking on a three-horse float carrying live weight is a substantial safety difference, particularly on a long descent. Have the magnets, shoes and controller output checked as part of any pre-purchase inspection.
A rear tack room that folds away turns a three-horse float into a wider, more open box for an oversized horse, or lets you walk a difficult loader straight through. It is the flexibility that a fixed partition cannot give you, and it costs nothing in day-to-day use.
