16ft x 8ft Steel Drying Room Cabin

Scaled up from the 12 ft, this 16 ft drying room handles a crew rather than a gang. Benches run the length of the cabin and a high-level fan heater circulates warm air above them, so boots, overalls and wet-weather gear are dry by the next shift instead of steaming in the ute.

The shell is the standard secure steel build – insulated walls and ceiling, wipe-clean lining boards, sealed vinyl floor, deadlocking steel external door, and two sliding windows behind steel shutters for ventilation on a milder day.

Power draw and switchboard

Drying rooms are the heaviest electrical load in most site compounds. This unit has its own fitted consumer unit with power points, a convector heater and strip lighting, and is electrically tested before it leaves. Confirm the supply rating with your electrician before connection: undersized site leads are the usual reason a drying room trips overnight and everyone starts the day wet anyway.

Ventilation matters as much as heat

A sealed, heated room full of wet gear turns into a sauna. Crack the shuttered windows or leave the vents open so moisture has somewhere to go; the fan heater does the rest.
