1+1 Double Mains Toilet Block 8ft x 5ft – Blue

Finished in blue, this 2.4 m mains toilet block carries two pans and two basins in a footprint barely larger than a garden shed. It is the unit to look at when the amenities have to go somewhere awkward – the back corner of a workshop yard, a sportsground boundary, a rural depot – and where digging in a permanent block is not worth the money or the paperwork.

Everything inside is chosen for hard use: aluminium chequer-plate flooring over a cement-bonded floor plate, wipe-clean wall boards, insulated walls and ceiling, strip lighting and an extractor fan. There are no windows, which keeps the cabin private and gives an intruder nothing to lever.

Moving it and standing it up

The cabin is short enough to travel on a tilt-tray or be lifted by a small franna, and it stands on its own corner posts. Ground preparation is simple but not optional: four concrete pads or a compacted crusher-dust bed, checked level in both directions so the pans seat properly and the doors stay square. Allow room in front of each door for the swing, plus access for a plumber to get under the floor for the waste connection.

Where approvals come in

Installing sanitary fixtures connected to mains water and sewer is regulated work everywhere in Australia, and most councils treat a permanent ablution facility as something that needs an approval even when the building itself is relocatable. Sort that out before delivery rather than after – our council approval guide explains how the process usually runs. Related units are grouped under toilet and shower blocks.
