40ft x 8ft Raised Bunded Store Container

This is the largest bunded store we build. Twelve metres of welded steel containment, a 300 mm raised bund and 48 vents through the walls — specified for sites consolidating a substantial chemical inventory into one lockable, contained structure instead of scattering it across sheds and open pallets. Mine service yards, bulk fuel depots, agricultural chemical resellers and large manufacturing sites are the usual buyers.

It is converted from a one-trip container, so the shell, doors and locking gear are effectively new. A 3 mm Durbar chequer-plate floor is welded in above the bund.

Thinking about the layout inside

At twelve metres you have room to segregate incompatible classes within the one structure, which is often the point of buying this size rather than two 20ft stores. Racking, additional lighting and internal signage can be fitted before dispatch — tell us the layout you want when you enquire.

Getting a 40ft store onto site

Twelve metres of container needs a long straight approach and firm ground the full length. Loaded weight matters too: a bunded 40ft is nearly four tonnes empty before you put anything in it, so the pad has to be right. Level bearers under all four corner castings keep the doors operating and the bund true.

Compliance, and who owns it

We supply the store. Containment sizing, separation distances, placarding and manifesting are set by AS 1940 and your state regulator and remain your responsibility — take the specifications above to your dangerous goods consultant.
