40ft High Cube Full Side Access Container (9ft 6in)

An 11,836 mm side opening with no central post is the specification that matters here. On most side-access containers a post in the middle of the opening splits it in two and dictates how you load; on this unit the whole 38ft 9in flank is clear, so a forklift can set a pallet down anywhere along the length and long items can go in sideways. Add the high cube height and you have the most accessible 40ft container we stock.

It is a one-trip unit, CSC plated to 24,000 kg gross, on a 28 mm marine plywood floor over steel cross members.

Door and locking arrangement

• Hinged double doors at one 8ft end with two locking bars per door
• Hinged doors along one 40ft side with three locking bars per door
• Cor-Ten weathering steel throughout
• Eight vents for cross-flow along the length

Optional bunded floor

A welded steel bunded floor can be installed at additional cost if the container will hold drums or plant that leaks. Specify it at order — retrofitting a bund once the unit is on your site costs considerably more.

Access and clearances

Two things to check: the vertical clearance along the delivery route for a high cube on a tilt-tray, and the working width beside the container for the side doors and your forklift. Both are covered in our dimensions guide. Other units at this size are in the 40ft range and the high cube category.
