20ft x 8ft Stackable Steel Store Cabin

This is a store, built as a store. Full-width steel doors 2.34 m wide open onto 5.844 m x 2.35 m of floor with 2.39 m of headroom, laid on 28 mm marine ply rather than the particle board used in the fitted cabins – which is what you want under pallet jacks, drums and steel stock.

Steel sides, steel frame and a steel understructure mean there is no soft point to attack, and it stands on corner posts so no jacking legs or hire stand are required.

Store versus shipping container

A used 20 ft container is the obvious alternative and is usually cheaper per cubic metre. Where this unit wins is the flooring, the door arrangement, the ability to stack with matching cabins in a compound, and the fact that it arrives ready to use rather than needing a condition inspection. If you want to weigh the two properly, our container grades guide explains what terms like wind and watertight or one-trip actually mean, and current pricing sits in the price guide.

Site preparation

Four level, load-bearing points under the corners. Get it right on the first unit if you intend to stack, because everything above copies the error. Keep the door end clear of the run-off path so water is not running in every time it is opened.

Typical uses

Consumables and fixings on construction compounds, seasonal equipment at sports clubs, feed and chemical storage on rural properties, archive and stock overflow behind retail premises. Other sizes and fitted cabins are under cabins for sale.
