20ft x 8ft Open Mesh Floor Bunded Store Container

An open mesh floor puts the drums above the containment volume instead of standing in it. Liquid that leaks passes straight through the galvanised grating into the sealed bund below, so a slow weep from a corroded seam is not sitting under the drum making the corrosion worse. For sites that store a mix of chemicals long term, that separation is the reason to choose mesh over a solid Durbar floor.

The store is converted from a one-trip 20ft container. The mesh is rated to 7.5 kN/m², which is a genuine working floor — drums, kegs and palletised stock, though not a forklift driven inside.

Loading the unit

Forklift pockets are fitted for moving the store itself, but load it from the doorway with a trolley or by hand rather than driving a forklift onto the mesh. Where you need to run a forklift inside, specify the flat Durbar floor version instead.

Ventilation and vapour

Twenty-four vents give continuous cross-flow through the walls. Combined with the open floor, that keeps vapour from pooling at low level, which is where heavier-than-air solvent vapours collect in a sealed container.
