A surveyed, CSC-plated cargo-worthy 20ft — the top grade of used container, certified fit to carry cargo at sea again. Guaranteed structurally sound and wind and watertight.
Cargo-worthy is the top grade of used container, and it means something specific: the unit has been surveyed and found fit to carry cargo at sea again, and it holds a valid CSC plate to prove it. That inspection covers wall and roof integrity, floor condition, door seals and the corner castings that take the crane load. For buyers it is a useful shortcut — you are not relying on a photograph and a description, you are relying on a survey.
These are genuine ex-shipping-line 20ft containers. They have worked, and they show it in the paint. Structurally they are sound and they are guaranteed wind and watertight.

You need cargo-worthy if the container is going back to sea, being shipped one-way with your goods inside, or if a contract or insurer requires certification. If it is going to sit in a yard holding tools for the next decade, a wind-and-watertight container does the same job for less money. The difference between the grades is set out in container grades explained.
Standard wind-and-watertight 20ft units and Grade A stock sit below this in price. Compare across the used container range and the Australian price guide before you decide which grade you are actually buying.
