20ft Full Side Access Shipping Container – Open Side

Full side access changes how a container works. Instead of a 2.34 m doorway at one end and a long dark tunnel behind it, the entire 20ft flank swings open, so a forklift can place a pallet anywhere along the length and you can see and reach every item without shuffling stock. What the side doors cost you

Two things are worth knowing before you order. The CSC plate on a full side access unit is rated to 24 tonnes rather than the 30 tonnes of a standard 20ft, because cutting a 6-metre opening into one wall removes structural steel. And the container needs a level pad: on uneven ground the long side doors can bind. Neither is a problem on a normal commercial hardstand, but both matter on a sloping rural block.

Room for the doors to swing

Allow roughly 1.2 m of clear space along the opening side for the leaves to fold back, plus the working room for whatever is loading. It is the single most common oversight when people position an FSA container against a fence line.

Compare before you buy
