A twin-axle 20 ft intermodal container chassis, 7.16 m long with a 1,219 mm frame height and a maker’s rating of 67,200 lb (30,481 kg). Purpose-built for shifting loaded 20 ft marine containers.
This is the specialist. A container chassis is not a general-purpose trailer – it is a skeletal frame with twistlocks, built to carry one 20 ft marine container and nothing else. What it gives you in return is the ability to move a fully loaded box quickly, repeatedly and without craneage at both ends.
Depots, freight forwarders, container hire operators and larger farms use them for exactly that: shuttling containers between yard, siding and site.

The 1,219 mm frame height is set so a container on the chassis lines up with a standard loading dock. If your operation involves docks, that single dimension is the reason to buy a purpose-built chassis rather than putting a box on a flat deck.
A 20 ft container at gross weight is a heavy, high load. The rating above is the original US manufacturer’s figure converted for reference – it is not an ADR rating, not an ATM plate and not a roadworthiness statement, and a chassis of this type requires a prime mover and the appropriate licence class. Approval and registration go through your state or territory road authority. Check the actual tare and gross of the boxes you intend to carry in our container dimensions guide, browse boxes in 20ft containers, and see the rest of the transport equipment under container chassis and trailers.
