2024 Shadow 2 Horse Float

The newest and lightest of our two horse floats. A 2024 Shadow at approximately 1,130 kg unladen, all aluminium, with a pressure-treated timber floor and 2.29 m of interior height over a 4.11 m box.

At 1.93 m external width it stays manageable on farm tracks and in tight parking.

Buying nearly new

A 2024 float has had almost no wear on bearings, brakes or floor, and it will still be current when you come to sell. What it will not have is a service history to inspect, so establish the tyre manufacture dates and get the wheel bearings checked before the first long trip regardless of the year on the plate.

Working out what you can actually carry

Take the manufacturer’s gross figure, subtract the tare, and what is left is your total allowance for two horses, saddles, rugs, feed and water. Two 500 kg horses account for most of it on a float rated this way. That arithmetic is the single most important thing to do before buying any float, and it is a conversation worth having with a qualified person rather than a sales listing.

Imported US-market stock. The weight ratings quoted are the US manufacturer’s and are not Australian ATM, GTM or GVM figures. This float has not been assessed against Australian Design Rules, state registration or roadworthy requirements, or any livestock transport welfare code, and no such compliance is claimed. See our shipping and delivery policy for how it gets to you.
