2022 Iron Bull 8.5ft x 25ft Deckover Plant & Equipment Trailer – 10t

Deckover means the deck runs above the wheels rather than between them, giving a full 8.5 ft of usable width from rail to rail. For anything wide – a wide-track machine, palletised freight, structural steel, a scissor lift – that width is worth more than the deck height costs you.

This Iron Bull is built on a 305 mm 19 lb I-beam frame with crossmembers at 406 mm centres, decked in treated timber, with a 2,591 x 1,524 mm self-cleaning dovetail and rampage ramps at the rear.

Loading a deckover safely

Higher deck, longer ramps, steeper angle: that is the trade-off. Give yourself firm level ground behind the trailer before loading, keep the ramps square, and remember that a deckover puts the load’s centre of gravity higher than a low-profile trailer does. It changes how the combination behaves in a crosswind on a highway.

Condition and inspection

This is a pre-owned trailer, so the things worth inspecting are the usual ones on a heavy deck: brake magnets and drums, the condition of the treated decking, the dovetail hinge pins, tyre age as well as tread, and any repair welding around the neck and spring hangers. Ask for photographs of those specific areas before committing.
