A plain, sturdy all-steel WW two-horse angle-load float — 3.66 m box, 0.61 m short wall, 15-inch wheels and a spare. Repairable in any farm workshop in the country.
All-steel construction is unfashionable and it has one real advantage: when something gets bent, any farm workshop in the country can weld it back. This WW 2HSL is a plain, sturdy two horse float in angle-load form with a 0.61 m short wall and a 3.66 m box.
It is the kind of float that gets bought by people who use one hard and repair it themselves rather than replacing it.
Steel rusts. That is not a reason to avoid a steel float, it is a reason to have a plan: wash the underside after wet trips, keep the paint intact, and inspect the chassis and the floor bearers every year. Looked after, a steel float outlasts its owner. Neglected, it becomes dangerous quietly.
Loading on the diagonal lets a horse brace across its body rather than fore and aft, and most horses settle into it quickly. Horses that have only ever travelled forward-facing sometimes take a session or two to walk on. If yours is firmly a straight-load horse, look at the parallel-bay units in our two horse float range.
Imported US-market stock. It has not been assessed against Australian Design Rules, state registration or roadworthy requirements, or any Australian livestock transport welfare code, and no such compliance is claimed. Have it inspected locally before carrying horses. Ordering and payment are covered in our buyers guide.
