2001 4 Star 2 Horse Angle Load Float

Recently serviced and fitted with brand-new tyres, this 4-Star tag unit is one of the tidier older two horse floats we list. Extruded aluminium sides, rubber-lined walls, a fixed rear tack with two saddle racks and a front dressing room with a camper door make it a complete package rather than a bare box.

Drop-down windows on the head side and sliding windows on the hip side and rear doors give it good cross-flow.

Rubber-lined walls

Lining the walls in rubber protects the horse from the structure and the structure from the horse. A float that has been kicked for a decade with bare aluminium walls will show it; one lined in rubber usually will not. It also cuts the drumming noise inside the box appreciably.

The coupling will need attention

The 59 mm hitch is a US ball size and will not fit a standard Australian 50 mm tow ball. Changing it is routine work for a trailer specialist, but it has to be done properly and the result has to satisfy your state’s requirements before the float goes on a road.
