A 1999 Elite three-horse float where everything reportedly works — new tyres including spare, functioning lights and drop-downs, eight-stud axles and a rotating saddle rack in the tack room.
Everything on this Elite three horse float works, and that is unusual enough on a 1999 float to be the headline. New tyres including the spare, all lights functioning, doors, partitions and drop-downs operating as they should, and a tack room with a boot box, bridle hooks and a saddle rack that rotates out for access.
At 4.11 m of internal length it is described as comfortable even for larger horses.
A move from six studs to eight indicates a heavier axle assembly with more bearing and hub capacity. On a three-horse float carrying up to 1,500 kg of live weight, that extra margin is where you want it. Have the bearings serviced before a long trip regardless — it is the cheapest insurance in trailering.
A saddle rack that swings out of the tack room means you can lift a saddle onto and off it standing upright outside, rather than crouched in a dark cupboard with your back at an angle. Anyone who has done the latter with a heavy stock saddle will pay extra for the former.
Imported US-market unit. It has not been assessed against Australian Design Rules or any Australian registration, roadworthy or livestock welfare requirement, and no such compliance is claimed. Have the float independently inspected before carrying horses. Ordering and payment are covered in the buyers guide.
