2005 Featherlite 2HST 2 Horse Straight Load Float

Featherlite’s 2HST in 2005 form: all aluminium, 1.22 m dressing room with a walk-through door, and 2.29 m of interior height in a 1.83 m wide body. At 1,270 kg empty it is one of the easiest two horse floats in this range to tow.

It is also one of the tidiest, described as all aluminium and very clean.

Light float, ordinary tow vehicle

Below about 1,300 kg tare, a two-horse float stops requiring a purpose-bought tow vehicle. Add two 500 kg horses and gear and you are still inside what many large wagons and dual-cabs are rated for. Confirm the numbers against your own vehicle’s plated capacities — and remember the gross weight figure quoted here is the US manufacturer’s, not an Australian rating.
