2016 Shadow 2 Horse Float

A 5.18 m box is unusually long for a two horse float, and that length is the reason to consider this Shadow 2STW-BP. It gives you a full 1.22 m tack area, roomy bays, and space to carry gear that would otherwise ride in the tow vehicle.

All-aluminium construction with an aluminium floor, an escape door, and 2.29 m of interior height.

Length, and where it goes

Five metres of box in a two-horse float means the horses are not standing shoulder to tail-gate. It also means a longer wheelbase behind the tow ball, which tracks more calmly at highway speed but needs more room to turn. Check your gate and your driveway before you commit to the length.

A tack area you can use

A 1.22 m short wall over a 1.22 m long wall is a proper tack space rather than a cupboard — enough for saddles, rugs, a feed bin and a change of clothes. On a float used for weekend competition rather than short local trips, that space is what stops the back seat of the car filling up with gear.
