20ft x 8ft Steel Canteen & Store Cabin

This 20 ft cabin splits into a crib and canteen area and a secure store, with separate access to each: a pedestrian steel door with two deadlocks into the living end, and steel double doors at the end of the cabin for loading the store. Sealed vinyl runs through the canteen; the store section is floored in plywood so it takes pallets, drums and steel without complaint.

It is a common choice for regional and remote jobs, where sending two cabins up the highway costs real money and the crew needs both a lunchroom and somewhere lockable for consumables.

Canteen fit-out

Sink, taps, water heater, cabinet and worktop, plus power points, an electric convector heater and fluorescent strip lighting. Two sliding windows behind steel shutters give light and ventilation without leaving glass exposed overnight.

Loading the store end

The double end doors are the thing to plan around: leave clear swing space and a firm approach on that side so a ute or a small forklift can get to it. Do not park the cabin hard against a fence at the store end.

Placement

It stands on corner posts and stacks with same-size units, so four level bearing points are all it needs.
