Carrying a spare, properly

A trailer tyre failure a long way from anywhere is the most common way a race weekend ends before it starts. An interior mount keeps the spare out of the weather and out of sight, and — unlike an underslung carrier — you can actually get to it without lying in the dirt.

Spread axles at speed

Moving the two axles further apart increases the wheelbase of the trailer group, which damps the pitching motion you get over expansion joints and undulations. Over a 1,000 km transport leg the difference in how tired you arrive is real.
