Silverfrost 7.32 m ATC ROM 550 on skirted spread torsion axles — cleaner airflow, far less road spray up the flank, plus escape door, twin roof vents and the LifeTrac rail fit-out.
Skirted axles are the detail to notice on this Silverfrost ROM 550. The skirting closes off the gap ahead of and behind the wheels, which cleans up the airflow along the flank and keeps a surprising amount of road spray off the side of the trailer on a wet drive across the Nullarbor or up the Hume.
The rest is a well-rounded 7.32 m enclosed hauler: escape door, cabinets, coin flooring, and the LifeTrac rail system for a fit-out you can change.
An open wheel arch on a 7 m box is a large, turbulent hole in the side of the trailer. Skirting it reduces drag and — more usefully day to day — reduces the sheet of muddy water that would otherwise be thrown up the flank. Combined with the screwless skin, it means less scrubbing after a wet trip.
Two manual roof vents plus air-conditioning prep is the sensible order of operations for an Australian summer: get the passive airflow first, add the compressor later if you need it. A closed aluminium box parked in the sun at Winton or Hidden Valley gets brutal without either.
