2026 ATC ROM 500 40ft Aluminium Gooseneck Enclosed Car Trailer – Black Trim

Twelve metres of enclosed aluminium on a gooseneck hitch. The longest enclosed hauler short of our 44-footers, the ROM 500 in 40 ft form is aimed at owners moving two cars nose to tail, or one car plus a very large amount of equipment, and it is finished here in black with a matching black trim package.

A tapered nose and a beavertail at the rear are what make a trailer this long usable rather than just large.

Gooseneck rather than tag

Putting the hitch point over the tow vehicle’s rear axle transfers load into the chassis instead of hanging it off a tow bar, and it dramatically improves how a long trailer tracks and reverses. The trade-off is that you need a suitable vehicle with a properly engineered gooseneck or fifth-wheel installation, and a tray you are willing to give up.

Manoeuvring something this long

A 12 m gooseneck plus a tow vehicle is a combination that will not fit in an ordinary carpark, will not turn in a suburban cul-de-sac, and needs a plan for where it lives when it is not working. Measure your gate, your driveway and your storage before you commit to the length.
