12ft x 8ft Secure Steel Crib Room Cabin

A crib room is where the crew eats, gets out of the sun and signs on. This 12 ft x 8 ft steel cabin is the entry size for that job – roughly 3.41 m x 2.195 m of open floor, which comfortably seats a small gang around a table with the kitchen bench along one end.

The fit-out is complete rather than a shell: stainless sink, taps and water heater, cabinet and worktop, power points, an electric convector heater and strip lighting, all tested before it leaves. Walls and ceiling are insulated and lined with wipe-clean board, and the floor is sealed vinyl, so it can be mopped out at the end of a muddy week.

Security when nobody is on site

The shell is what the British trade calls anti-vandal and what Australian sites usually just call secure steel: one steel external door with two deadlocks, and a single window behind a steel security shutter. There is no timber to lever and no glass on show once it is closed up.

Siting and stacking

It stands on its own corner posts, so no jacking legs and no separate stand are needed – just a level, load-bearing pad under each corner. Matching units in the same size can be stacked to double your footprint on a tight compound, which is worth planning for before the first one lands.

What you still need to arrange

A licensed electrician connects the supply and a plumber runs water in and waste out. Both are quick jobs because the internal work is already done.
