20ft One Trip Shipping Container – Blue

The blue 20ft is the default container: 6 metres long, roughly 33 cubic metres inside, and enough steel around it that whatever goes in stays in. This is a one-trip unit — built in China to ISO standards, loaded once for the voyage to Australia, then sold here rather than returned to the shipping fleet. It is the most common form of “new” container in this market and costs substantially less than a locally fabricated equivalent for the same build quality.

Everything is factory standard: hinged double doors at one end with two locking bars each, a lockbox welded on, forklift pockets both sides and four vents to move air through the box.

Condition you can expect

A one-trip container is structurally new and cosmetically near-new. Paint is unfaded, seals are soft, doors close without persuasion. There will usually be a few scrapes from lashing gear and crane spreaders. If that matters, a respray to any RAL colour can be quoted; if it does not, a used container will save you a considerable amount — the differences are laid out in container grades explained.

What the site needs

A tilt-tray truck needs about 20 metres of straight approach and firm ground to slide onto, with no low branches or wires above the run. Four sleepers or concrete pads under the corner castings keep the frame true and the floor dry.
