20ft x 8ft Flat Floor Bunded Store Container

Twenty feet of bunded storage is the size most industrial sites settle on: enough floor for a decent run of drums and a couple of IBCs, small enough to sit on a corner of the hardstand. The store starts as a one-trip container and is converted by welding a 3 mm Durbar chequer-plate floor over a sealed steel bund, so the working surface is flat — you can wheel a drum trolley straight in without lifting over a lip.

Twenty-four vents are cut through the walls. That is a deliberate over-specification: a sealed steel box holding solvents in an Australian summer builds vapour quickly, and cross-ventilation is the cheapest control there is.

Flat floor or raised bund?

A flat floor store is easier to load — nothing to lift or ramp over — and suits drums moved on a trolley. A raised bund store gives you a deeper containment volume for the same footprint, at the cost of a 300 mm step at the door. Both are stocked in 20ft; pick on how the store will actually be used day to day, not on the containment number alone.

Your compliance obligations

We supply the hardware. Sizing containment for the class and quantity of liquids you hold, signage, separation distances and manifesting are set by AS 1940 and by your state work health and safety regulator. Bring the dimensions above to your dangerous goods consultant before you order.
