A used 30ft bulk container with four top-opening roof lids and a front tipping hatch. Nine metres of ex-shipping-line steel — bought for bulk handling, mostly used for storage.
Bulk containers are a different animal to a standard box. This 30ft unit was built to carry dry bulk cargo — grain, resin pellets, mineral concentrate — which is why it has four top-opening lids in the roof and a tipping hatch at the front. You fill it from above through the lids and discharge by tipping, rather than shovelling it out through the end doors. Second-hand bulkers turn up in Australian yards as an economical way to buy nine metres of steel.
They come off the shipping lines in two-door and three-door configurations depending on the model, with four or eight vents. Stock varies, so tell us what you need it for and we will match a unit to it.

Most Australian buyers of these are not moving bulk at all. They want nine metres of secure covered space at a price well under a 40ft, on a site that cannot take a 12-metre delivery. The top lids are a bonus in that use — you can crane long items in from above instead of threading them through the doors.
A 30ft container still needs a full-length tilt-tray and a straight run to slide off. If your access is tight, measure the swing before you order rather than after the truck arrives. There is more on footprints and clearances in our dimensions guide.
A cut-down 30ft made from a one-trip 40ft is the alternative if you want new steel at this length and do not need the bulk features. See the 30ft container range, or the used container stock for other ex-shipping-line units.
