A 6.1 m Econo-Max with the 305 mm height upgrade for approximately 2.29 m inside — poly-core skin, 152 mm tube frame, plywood lining and spring axles. The workhorse option, not the showpiece.
The Econo-Max is Millennium’s no-frills build: a screwed poly-core exterior, spring axles and plywood lining rather than aluminium sheet and torsion suspension. What you get for the saving is 6.1 m of enclosed, lockable space with 305 mm of extra height — approximately 2.29 m inside.
It is the sensible option in our enclosed trailer range when the trailer is a tool rather than a showpiece: landscaping gear, market stalls, a bike collection, a project car that has not been painted yet.
Ordering the 305 mm height upgrade takes the interior from a little over two metres to approximately 2.29 m. That is the difference between stooping and standing, and it is what lets you fit a tall van conversion, a lifted 4WD or a stack of shelving without fighting the roof bows.
Leaf springs are cheaper to buy and cheaper to repair anywhere in the country, which is a real advantage a long way from a capital city. They ride harder than torsion axles and they will eventually sag, but for a trailer that does moderate kilometres they are entirely sensible. Browse the torsion-axle alternatives in the enclosed trailers category if ride quality matters more than purchase price.
